Ehrlich Nissan/VW Down & Derby Party FAQs

Q. What is the Down & Derby Party?

A. The Down & Derby Party celebrates all the pageantry and excitement of the Kentucky Derby. It just happens to do it Colorado-style. A live-feed of the actual race brings the action to you from the world’s most exciting two minutes in sports!  Event proceeds go to benefit NoCO Active 2030.  This year their primary beneficiaries are: Larimer County Child Advocacy Center, Colorado Youth Outdoors, Respite Care and Boys & Girls Club of Weld County.

Q. What do I get with my ticket purchase?

A. Tickets to this must-attend event of the season include the tastiest of Southern fare, beverages, bourbon tasting, and, of course, the traditional Mint Julep. Tickets for the Run for the Roses Raffle, available for purchase at the event, make you eligible to win a variety of tremendous prize packages, including a trip to Louisville for the 2015 Kentucky Derby. Live music, dancing and other shenanigans will make you smile all day long. The hat contest is always a fun time. Oh, and there is always a few surprises. You get the idea, right? It’s just a darn fun time.

Q. How much are tickets?

A. Tickets are $100 per person (buy here). Not only do you get great fun with your ticket, but you are helping support some great kids organizations in NOCO!  Thank you.

Q. What is the ticket release party (aka Advance Ticket Event)?

A.   This year’s Advance Ticket Event has come and gone.  Each year we take 1 or 2 days to release the tickets to the public and provide a special sale price.  It is usually a month before the actual Party.  If you missed this year’s event, be sure to take note for next year.

Q. Can I buy tickets at the door?

A. Doubtful. It has sold out the past few years. Get your tickets in advance to ensure you are here.

Q. What do I wear?

A. We’d like to encourage you to wear your best Derby duds. Don’t know what those are? Take a look at the pictures. Of course we’ll take you if you don’t want to get all Derby dudded-up, but give it a try. And, women, yes, hats are a critical fashion statement.

Q. I’d like to do more. Can I sponsor the event?

A. You bet… Here’s our sponsor kit. We’d be glad to have you.

Q. What’s the LPR Construction Hat Contest?

A. Of course, no Kentucky Derby event could be complete without a tribute to proudly worn, traditional, ostentatious headwear. The Best Hat Contest will honor the finest chapeau donned at the party – the bigger and more flamboyant, the better.  And, we thank our friends at LPR Construction for proudly sponsoring this event.  It’s good to know the guys in hard hats have such a soft heart!  In need of a great hat?  Try NOCO’s own Cynthia Lee, winner of several official Kentucky Derby hat contests.  Even better, Cynthia has donated a hat as the prize for this year’s lucky winner.

Q. What else should I know?

A. Well, since it is a fundraiser for NOCO Active 20/30, there’s great ways for you to help the children. We’ll have raffle tickets for a drawing to the 2015 Kentucky Derby to see it live. There’s an auction for you to bid on great prizes. We are here to raise much needed funds for underprivileged kids in NOCO.

Q. Where do I park?

A. There’s a huge parking lot at the venue.

Q. Where is the venue?

A. The Island at Water Valley

Q. Do you provide transportation?

A. We have shuttles and drivers to get you home!  Trunk Drivers would love to take you home.  They get reserved fast so call and schedule your ride today.  They’ll bring you home in your own car!  Additionally, we will have shuttle services from Green Ride available.  Please view the Shuttle Schedule to see times.
